Shipping Clerk
Job Summary:
The Shipping Clerk manages the efficient flow of goods and materials throughout the supply chain. This role includes coordinating shipping and receiving activities, inventory management, and ensuring the timely and accurate delivery of products to customers. The Shipping Clerk works closely with suppliers, carriers, and internal departments to optimize logistics operations and reduce costs while maintaining high service levels.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Coordinate the loading and unloading of goods, verifying the accuracy of shipments and ensuring proper documentation.
- Monitor inventory levels, conduct regular stock counts, and report discrepancies to management. Ensure proper storage and handling of materials.
- Process customer orders, schedule deliveries, and ensure timely and accurate dispatch of goods.
- Arrange transportation for outbound shipments, negotiate rates with carriers, and track deliveries to ensure timely arrival.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe warehouse environment. Operate forklifts and other warehouse equipment as required.
- Prepare and maintain shipping and receiving documents, including bills of lading, packing lists, and customs paperwork.
- Serve as the point of contact between the warehouse, suppliers, carriers, and customers. Provide status updates and resolve any logistical issues.
- Ensure compliance with all applicable safety, regulatory, and company policies and procedures.
Identify opportunities to streamline processes and improve efficiency within the logistics department. - Perform additional duties as assigned, including special projects based on organization needs.
Required Skills/Abilities:
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Understanding of applicable Occupational Safety and Health Administration requirements and other related safety policies and best practices.
- Experience preferred with Microsoft Office Suite or related software to monitor and maintain records and inventory.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Education and Experience:
- High School diploma or equivalent
- Forklift certification
- Proven experience in logistics, supply chain, or a related field.
- Proficient computer skills: ERP system, Microsoft Office
Physical Requirements:
- Prolonged periods standing
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds
- Must be able to work on unforgiving surfaces
- Must be able to work in hot and cold climates and an environment with many noises and odors.
